Artem Timofeev

Artem Timofeev is a product of the Spartak Moscow academy, having arrived there as a boy after starting out at Sokol Saratov and a spell at Chertanovo's youth centre in the capital. He worked his way through Spartak's reserve side, debuting for Spartak-2 in 2013, and stayed registered with the senior club until 2021 even as loan spells took him elsewhere. He was part of the Spartak squad that won the Russian Championship in 2016/17 and took bronze the following season.

Loan moves to Krylia Sovetov and then to Akhmat Grozny gave him the regular football that had been harder to find in Moscow, and Akhmat made the move permanent in the summer of 2021. He settled there, picking up Man of the Match awards in the Russian Premier League during the 2020/21 season and staying with the Grozny club for three years before joining Lokomotiv Moscow as a free agent in July 2024. At Lokomotiv he collected a further bronze medal in the 2025/26 season before his contract there was ended by mutual consent in June 2026.

Internationally, Timofeev has represented Russia at U17, U19 and U21 level, scoring for the U17s and winning four caps with the U21s, though he has not featured for the senior national side. Within days of leaving Lokomotiv he agreed a two-year deal with Nizhny Novgorod on a free transfer.
