Benno Dietze

Benno Dietze is a Hansa Rostock academy product through and through. Born in Güstrow, he arrived in the club's youth system after starting out at SV Hafen Rostock, helping the club's U19 side win promotion to the A-Junioren-Bundesliga in 2021.

His path to the first team ran through the reserves. Dietze made his debut for Hansa Rostock II in the Oberliga Nordost in September 2021 and went on to make 62 league appearances for the second string over three seasons, part of the squad that won the Oberliga Nordost title in 2023 and went up to the Regionalliga Nordost, before the team came back down to the Oberliga in 2024.

By then Dietze already had senior football under his belt at the higher level: he made his professional debut for Hansa Rostock's first team in the 2. Bundesliga in July 2022, well before he put pen to paper on his first professional contract in November 2024. In the 2024/2025 season, playing in the 3.

Primarily a central midfielder who can also drop into a defensive role, the right-footed Dietze has never been out on loan, having made every step of his career within the Hansa Rostock structure — from the youth ranks through the reserves and into the first team.
