About the player
Besfort Zeneli came through the academy at IF Elfsborg, joining the Swedish club as a boy before making his senior debut in July 2022. He stayed with Elfsborg until January 2026, when Union Saint-Gilloise paid a reported base fee of around €3.5–3.7 million, with add-ons potentially pushing the total above €5.5 million — a sum Elfsborg described as the biggest sale of a homegrown player in the club's history.
Born in Säter, Zeneli holds both Swedish and Kosovar citizenship. He first represented Kosovo at Under-21 level, earning six caps, before switching his senior international allegiance to Sweden in 2025. He has since won five caps for Sweden and was included in the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Since arriving at Union Saint-Gilloise, Zeneli has already added to his medal collection, helping the club win the Belgian Cup in the 2025–26 season and the Belgian Super Cup in 2026.
