Christopher Kane

Chris Kane's first goal for St Johnstone was one that mattered. On 24 May 2015 he scored the winner in a 1–0 victory over Aberdeen, a result that secured fourth place and European qualification for the club.

He had come through St Johnstone's academy after starting out at Bonnyrigg Rose, and made his senior debut in November 2013. Regular football came on loan. At Dumbarton in 2014–15 he scored 15 goals in 28 league games, and at Queen of the South in the first half of the 2017–18 season he added four in 16 appearances. That season also brought a hat-trick in a 4–0 Scottish Cup win over Albion Rovers in January 2018.

Kane stayed with St Johnstone until 2024 and made more than 190 league appearances. He was part of the squad that won the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup in 2020–21. Injury kept him out for most of 2022–23.

In February 2024 he joined Dunfermline Athletic on loan and scored five goals in 10 appearances. When his St Johnstone contract expired that May, he signed for Dunfermline on a free transfer.

His first full season there, 2024–25 in the Scottish Championship, was his most productive in front of goal. He finished as the club's top scorer with 14 league goals, level for third in the division. Among them were a penalty against Airdrieonians in October 2024 and the winner against Livingston in April 2025.
