Cristian Ignacio Paz

Cristian Ignacio Paz took the long way to Deportivo Riestra. He came through the youth ranks at Temperley and made his professional debut there, but his early years were unsettled: a loan spell at Ukraine's Karpaty Lviv in 2017 produced no appearances at all, and he was shipped out again almost immediately, this time to Club Atlético San Miguel, before returning to Temperley in 2018.

The move that gave his career shape came in 2021, when Paz joined Deportivo Morón on a free transfer. Over two seasons in the Primera Nacional he made 64 appearances and scored three goals, establishing himself as a regular starter in a way he never had at his previous stops. That run earned him a switch to Europe in January 2023, when Romania's FC Voluntari signed him on a free. His stay in Bucharest was brief but not without a highlight: Voluntari reached the semi-finals of the Cupa României before being relegated from Liga I at the end of the season, with Paz making 17 league appearances and one in the cup.

Paz returned to Argentina in July 2024, joining Deportivo Riestra on a free transfer. He has since become a fixture in the side, passing 70 appearances in the Primera División alone and adding outings in the Copa Argentina and Copa Sudamericana, the first continental football of his career. His return of one goal and one assist for Riestra reflects a defender's job done steadily rather than spectacularly, and he has yet to add a call-up to the Argentina national team or any team title to his record.
