About the player
Diljá Ýr Zomers left Iceland for Sweden in 2021, winning the Svenska Cupen with BK Häcken. She had come through FH, then played for Stjarnan and Valur, and in 2020 with Valur she was still in the Icelandic league. Her move from Valur to Häcken was made without a reported transfer fee.
In August 2022 she went on loan to IFK Norrköping until December, then returned to Häcken. In 2023 she moved to Belgium and OH Leuven, where she stayed until 2025.
Her international career gathered pace over the same period. She has been a regular in the Iceland senior side since 2022, and was part of the squad that won the 2023 Pinatar Cup. Manager Þorsteinn Halldórsson included her in the squad for UEFA Women's Euro 2025.
Zomers is right-footed and plays mainly as an attacking midfielder or on the wing.
In July 2025 she joined Brann on a free transfer from Leuven, signing a contract until 2027.
