About the player
The 2019 Finnish Women's Cup final was decided by a goal from Emmaliina Tulkki, and Nea Lehtola made it: her assist gave HJK Helsinki the winning goal against Åland United.
Lehtola came to HJK from FC Ilves, the club she had joined as a seven-year-old and moved through the junior ranks of. She made her senior debut for Ilves on 1 April 2016 against PK-35 Vantaa and stayed until the end of 2018. At HJK she stayed until 2022, and won no individual awards there.
In July 2022 she moved abroad to Brøndby IF in Denmark. She left in June 2024, and Brøndby did not win the Danish league or cup in that time. That same month she signed with SK Brann in Norway, on a contract running to the end of 2026.
Her international career began on 8 March 2020, against Croatia at the Cyprus Women's Cup. She has since won 26 caps for Finland and scored five goals, with four of them coming in a run from late 2024:
against Montenegro in Euro 2025 qualifying on 29 October 2024; against Scotland in a friendly on 3 December 2024; against Serbia in the Nations League on 3 June 2025; and against Portugal in 2027 World Cup qualification on 9 June 2026.
