About the player
Danilo Tarasenko is a Ukrainian forward who came to Bulgarian football as a teenager and has stayed there. In an interview with Blitz.bg, he said he wants to play for the Bulgarian national team, although he holds Ukrainian citizenship. He has not been capped by Ukraine at any level.
His route into the professional game ran through Lokomotiv Plovdiv. He played for the club's U15 and U17 sides and was in the U19 squad for the 2024/2025 season. In January 2025 he moved to CSKA 1948 on a free transfer, and began with the club's second team, CSKA 1948 II.
The clearest test of his development came on loan. In July 2025 CSKA 1948 sent him to Minyor Pernik of the Vtora Liga for the 2025/2026 season. He made 31 appearances there, scored twice and provided six assists. He is most often described as a right winger.
He returned to CSKA 1948 on 30 June 2026 and is now registered with the first team for the 2026/2027 season. He has made three appearances so far, without a goal or an assist. He is at the stage where the loan spell has to turn into regular minutes in the top flight.
