Diego Churin

Diego Churín made his name away from Argentina. At Cerro Porteño he scored 71 goals in 226 appearances across two spells, finishing as the club's third all-time top scorer and its leading foreign one. He won the Clausura in 2017 as the competition's top scorer with 11 goals, and added the Apertura title in 2020; at the General Pablo Rojas stadium he shares the record for goals scored there, with 39.

Before Paraguay, Chile had already shown what he could do in front of goal: at Unión Española he was joint top scorer of the 2016 Clausura with 25 goals in 43 matches. A move to Grêmio in Brazil followed his second Cerro Porteño exit in 2020, then a loan to Atlético Goianiense, before he returned to Cerro Porteño in 2023 on a free transfer.

In 2025 he crossed to Peru, joining Universitario de Deportes and winning both the Apertura and Clausura to complete the Liga 1 title that year. He returned to Argentine football in 2026 with Sarmiento de Junín on a free transfer, and has already got off the mark from the penalty spot against Banfield, adding another against Tristán Suárez.
