The goal that put Žagar's name into wider circulation came against Partizan in August 2026, in a match IMT won. It was a rare piece of evidence for a player whose numbers had until then been modest, and it arrived a little over a year after Partizan themselves had been linked with signing him.

That interest, reported in June 2025, went no further. The deal stalled, Žagar stayed at IMT, and the club later tied him to a contract running to 30 June 2029. His market value is estimated at around €400,000.

The route there was short and not especially straight. He spent a season in the Crvena Zvezda U19 side, from July 2022 to June 2023, then dropped out of view before joining IMT 's U19 team on a free transfer in August 2024. Promotion to the senior squad followed quickly: he made his debut in the Serbian SuperLiga during the 2024/25 campaign, though he finished it with four league appearances.

The following season looked different. Žagar started regularly, played 26 league matches in 2025/26 and scored once, adding a further goal in the relegation round.

He has not been capped at international level, and no individual honours are recorded against his name. What the record shows is a player who arrived at IMT without a fee, was wanted by one of the country's biggest clubs before he had established himself, and has since become a fixture in the side that kept him.
