Ellis Reco Simms

Ellis Simms came through at Blackburn Rovers before a move to Manchester City in 2017, then switched to Everton's academy the same year, where he signed his first professional contract in May 2019. He built his game through a string of loans, and it was at Blackpool in the 2020–21 season that he had his clearest impact, helping the club win promotion to the Championship through the play-offs. Further loans followed at Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership and at Sunderland in the Championship.

Coventry City made the move permanent in July 2023, paying an initial £3.5 million that could rise to £8 million with add-ons. He repaid it in his first season at the club. In February 2024 he scored his first senior hat-trick, against Maidstone United in the FA Cup, then added two more in the FA Cup quarter-final against Wolverhampton Wanderers. He finished the 2023–24 season with 19 goals, sharing Coventry's Golden Boot.

Simms has represented England at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-20 level, and he is also eligible to play for Poland and Jamaica, though he has yet to win a senior cap for any of the three.
