About the player
Elin Westlund made her Damallsvenskan debut for Djurgården on 24 March 2024, a year after she joined the club's FA19 youth side. The step from academy football to the first team was quick.
She began playing at five with IK Frej in Täby and stayed there until moving to Djurgården's academy in 2023. Promotion to the A-team followed in 2024, and the debut came in the same spring. Her first season ended with the club naming her Årets Junior i Djurgården, its junior of the year. In October 2024 she signed a four-year contract that runs to the end of 2028.
Westlund is a left-footed left-back. Her development has included time away from the club. In July 2025 she went on loan to Umeå IK in the second-tier Elitettan for the autumn, on a club development agreement. She played five matches for Umeå and scored twice. She was back at Djurgården in 2026.
Her international career has run alongside the club one. She made her debut for Sweden's U23 side in February 2025 against the Czech Republic and had won four caps at that level by April 2026.
