About the player
Maho Hirosawa joined Djurgården on the last day of the transfer window in April 2026, signing a contract that runs through 2028. An earlier injury had delayed the move. It took her from Japan's WE League to Sweden's Damallsvenskan, after the years she spent at Mynavi Sendai Ladies.
Her route into the professional game began with school football and continued at Waseda University, where she spent four years. In July 2022 she signed for Mynavi Sendai Ladies in the WE League. She made 41 appearances for the club in total and scored eight goals, playing as a striker.
Her international experience so far has come at youth level. For Japan's under-19 side she won five caps and scored six goals. She played at the 2019 AFC U-19 Women's Championship, where Japan reached the final.
Hirosawa is a right-footed forward, and in Sweden she starts a new stage of her career at a club she has committed to for the next two seasons or so under the terms of her deal.
