About the player
François Lajugie's path to professional football ran through Corrèze rather than a big academy. He joined ESA Brive's academy in 2011, with spells at the Pôle Espoir de Châteauroux and Nantes' youth setup along the way, then returned to Brive for the 2014–2015 season.
What follows is a career built on free transfers rather than fees: from Orléans to CA Bastia in 2016, on to Limoges FC in 2017, and then to FC Bastia-Borgo, where he settled for four seasons between 2018 and 2022. That stretch at Bastia-Borgo appears to have been the making of him as a regular starter at centre-back, and it was enough to earn him a move to Annecy in June 2022, right as the club had just won promotion to Ligue 2.
Lajugie has not collected trophies or individual honours along the way, and his career has stayed at club level in France without any call-ups to national youth or senior sides.
