About the player
Paul Venot has spent most of his career close to home. He joined Blois Foot 41 at the age of 11 and stayed thirteen seasons, working through every youth level before establishing himself in the first team in National 2, where he made more than 67 appearances.
In July 2024 Venot left Blois for Angoulême CFC, another National 2 side, on a free transfer.
That form was enough to earn him a move into professional football. In May 2025 Annecy signed him on a free transfer, with the deal reportedly agreed within about four days, and tied him to a contract running until 2027. It marked Venot's first step into Ligue 2 after a career built entirely on free moves between lower-division clubs.
A left-footed midfielder, Venot arrives at Annecy without major honours or individual awards to his name, and without caps at any French youth level.
