German Barkovskiy

German Barkovskiy's breakthrough season came in 2024, when he established himself at Dinamo Brest with ten goals and sixteen assists. The campaign brought him four individual honours at once: the Dainova prize for the best goal-plus-assist record, and the awards for best forward, best assistant and best young player in the Belarusian championship.

Born in Bobruisk, Barkovskiy came through the academy at Belshina, where he scored seven goals in thirty-four appearances before also featuring for the club's reserve side. His path to the top flight ran through loan spells at Isloch, where he made the move permanent, and a season at Energetik-BGU before Dinamo Brest gave him the platform to show what he could do.

That form in Brest earned him a move abroad. In January 2025 Puszcza Niepołomice paid €400,000 to bring him to Poland, and by the summer he had gone out on loan to Piast Gliwice, where he made thirty-one appearances and scored four goals. In August 2025 he signed for the Czech side Hradec Králové for a further €400,000, but visa complications meant the transfer never really got going — he was sent straight back out on loan, this time to Polonia Warsaw, where he has featured twice so far.

Barkovskiy made his debut for Belarus on 11 June 2024 against Israel and has since won sixteen caps. His only international goal came on 5 September 2025, against Greece in World Cup qualifying.
