Gastón Nicolás González

González was signed from Unión de Santa Fe for an estimated $2.1 million under the MLS U22 Initiative in May 2022. The forward suffered a cruciate ligament tear shortly after arriving and did not make his MLS debut until March 2023. The club declined his contract option after the 2024 season, and he left as a free agent.

González came through the youth ranks at Unión de Santa Fe, making his senior debut on 13 April 2019 before his move to the United States.

He signed with Defensa y Justicia in January 2025 but made only 10 appearances before rescinding his contract in July of that year, citing a lack of playing time. He then joined Sarmiento de Junín on loan until the end of 2026, with an option to buy. At Sarmiento he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over San Martín de San Juan in the Liga Profesional Argentina Clausura.

González has not made an official appearance for the Argentina senior national team, though he took part as a sparring partner during the squad's preparations for the 2019 Copa América.
