About the player
Hamza El Dahri came through the Sparta Rotterdam academy, joining the club at the age of seven and staying with it for over a decade before making his senior debut in November 2023, appearing in the Eredivisie against FC Utrecht and in the KNVB Beker against V.V. IJsselmeervogels. He signed his first professional contract that same month. Across that debut season he made five Eredivisie appearances and one in the cup for Sparta's first team, while also turning out for Jong Sparta in the Tweede Divisie.
In June 2025, with his contract at Sparta running out, El Dahri moved to Almere City FC on a free transfer, signing until 2028. The switch reunited him with Jeroen Rijsdijk, a coach he had worked under before.
El Dahri's development has run in parallel through the Dutch youth international set-up. He was capped twice for the Netherlands under-18s in 2022, then stepped up to the under-19s, where he made nine appearances between 2023 and 2024, including matches in qualifying for the 2024 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He has yet to add a senior title or individual award to his record.
