Olivier de Neys

Olivier de Nijs began playing at the amateur club AVV SDZ in Amsterdam before moving to the Almere City FC academy in 2020. He worked his way through the youth ranks, appearing around 50 times and scoring eight goals for Jong Almere City FC, and was part of the Almere City youth side that won the Holland U21 Divisie 1 in the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 seasons. In 2022, at the age of 17, he signed his first professional contract with the club.

De Nijs made his first-team debut in the Eredivisie on 2 March 2025, coming on as a substitute against Ajax, and went on to make two league appearances that season. After Almere City's relegation to the Eerste Divisie, he continued in the senior squad. In the 2025–26 season he has made 30 league appearances and scored five goals, opening his professional account against FC Eindhoven in September 2025 and later netting a decisive goal against TOP Oss in November 2025. He has added three cup appearances and one further goal in that competition.

His development has been matched by contract security: his deal was extended with an additional option in May 2025, and further extended to run until June 2028. A right-footed midfielder standing 181 cm tall, de Nijs plays as the club competes in the Eerste Divisie.
