About the player
Harry Waldock is now a regular in the club's first team.
He came through Gillingham's academy, moving up through the under-18 and under-21 sides. His senior debut came in 2024–25, when he made substitute appearances in the EFL Trophy and in League Two. He signed his first professional contract in 2025.
The loans began in August 2024 at Ashford United in the Isthmian Premier Division, where he made 10 appearances. A year later he went to Whitehawk on a season-long loan. That spell was cut short: Gillingham recalled him in mid-September 2025, after five appearances. Instead he moved on loan to Cray Wanderers in the same month and stayed there until Gillingham recalled him on 31 December 2025.
Waldock is a central midfielder, and his versatility is what stands out about him. He can play in a more defensive role or a more attacking one. Gillingham's own media describe him as a promising young talent.
Having come back from those loans, he has been making regular appearances in League Two and the cup competitions. The spells at Ashford, Whitehawk and Cray Wanderers gave him regular senior minutes.
