About the player
Hessel Eikelboom started out at SV Steenwijkerwold and later spent three years in the sc Heerenveen youth ranks before joining d'Olde Veste '54. He turned senior there in 2021 in the Vierde Divisie, making 31 competitive appearances and scoring a goal, plus four outings in the KNVB Beker.
A single season at HHC Hardenberg in the Tweede Divisie followed, where Eikelboom again made 31 appearances and scored once as the club finished sixth, with Quick Boys taking the title. That form was enough to attract interest from clubs in the Eredivisie and Keuken Kampioen Divisie, but it was FC Den Bosch who signed him in June 2026, on a two-year deal in the Eerste Divisie with a club option for a third season — his first move into professional football.
Eikelboom made his professional debut on 8 August 2026, starting the full 90 minutes in a 1–1 draw away to Almere City FC. By September 2026 he had made seven appearances in the Eerste Divisie for Den Bosch. His career to date has been built entirely within the Dutch domestic game, with no senior or youth international caps to his name.
