I. Maza

Ibrahim Maza grew up in Berlin and came through the youth ranks at Reinickendorfer Füchse before moving into Hertha Berlin's academy in 2018. He worked his way up through the club's second team before breaking into the first-team squad, and it was there that he made his mark early: he became the sixth-youngest goalscorer in Bundesliga history, netting at 17 years and six months, and later became the youngest player to score in both the Bundesliga and the second division.

Maza was capped by Germany at under-18, under-19 and under-20 level before switching allegiance to Algeria, the country of his family background, and making his senior international debut in October 2024. The change of nationality has paid off on the pitch: he has scored for Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, finding the net against Sudan and Equatorial Guinea, and added a further goal in qualifying for the next edition of the tournament against Zambia.

His performances for Hertha, where he scored regularly as an attacking midfielder, attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen, who signed him on a long-term contract. The move took him from Berlin to one of the leading clubs in the Bundesliga. At Leverkusen he wears the number 30 and plays as a right-footed attacking midfielder, continuing the development that began on Berlin's amateur pitches and accelerated once he swapped a German shirt for an Algerian one.
