About the player
He started out at ASC HLM Dakar and then at Académie Génération Foot before turning professional at US Orléans in 2019. Over two seasons there he made 45 Ligue 2 appearances and scored eight goals.
The Beerschot spell was interrupted by a loan back to France, to Quevilly-Rouen: 53 Ligue 2 appearances and seven goals across a season and a half. That form led Le Havre to sign him in July 2023, reaching 69 Ligue 1 appearances and 13 goals for the club.
Back at Le Havre for 2024–25, Soumaré had his best individual spell in French football, and was named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for September 2025.
