About the player
Juan Foyth made his professional debut at Estudiantes de La Plata in 2017 before Tottenham Hotspur paid a reported £8 million to bring him to England. He reached the 2018–19 Champions League final with Spurs. The move that reshaped his career came in October 2020, when he joined Villarreal on loan. He made 12 Europa League appearances that season, scored once, and helped the club win the competition in 2021 — the deal became permanent that June for €15 million.
Foyth made his senior international debut for Argentina in November 2018 against Mexico and was named Man of the Match. He went to the 2019 Copa América, where Argentina finished third, and by November 2025 had earned 22 caps. He also won the 2022 CONMEBOL–UEFA Cup of Champions with Argentina.
Foyth holds Argentine, Spanish and Polish nationality and plays comfortably at either centre-back or right-back.
