About the player
Jérémie Matumona came through the youth academy at Le Mans. In the 2023–2024 season, while still with the U19s, he reached the round of 32 of the Coupe Gambardella, going out to Olympique de Marseille on penalties. That same season he made his senior debut for Le Mans in the National, the French third tier.
The following campaign turned him into a regular starter. Under coach Patrick Videira, Matumona made 27 league appearances and scored once in the 2024–2025 National season, with a goal and an assist. Le Mans also gave him two outings in the Coupe de France that season.
He left Le Mans as a free agent at the end of the season and signed for En Avant Guingamp on a contract running until 2029. At Guingamp he was brought in to compete for the right-back spot alongside Erwin Koffi. He has since made ten Ligue 2 appearances in the 2025–2026 season plus one in the Coupe de France.
Matumona holds dual French and Congolese nationality but has not yet been capped by either senior national team.
