Jayden Turfkruyer

Jayden Turfkruier was part of the Telstar side that won promotion to the Eredivisie in 2025, the club's first top-flight place in 47 years. Telstar came through the promotion play-offs and beat Willem II in the final. Turfkruier, a key player that season, made six appearances in the play-offs.

He came up through the Amsterdam amateur game, first at ASC Waterwijk and then at Amsterdamsche FC, before joining Telstar in 2021. His first-team debut came in the Eerste Divisie against Den Bosch on 11 December 2022, as an 82nd-minute substitute. He signed his first professional contract three months later. It ran to 2024 with an option for a further year, which the club took up in March 2024.

The goals arrived in stages. Before the 2023–24 season he scored a hat-trick in a pre-season friendly against Hollandia. His first league goal came on 9 September 2023 against VVV-Venlo. A year later, on 8 September 2024, he scored twice against MVV for his first brace.

Born in Amsterdam, he plays for Suriname and made his international debut in November 2024.

His contract at Telstar expired on 30 June 2025, and he spent about six months without a club. On 15 January 2026 he signed a free transfer to Finland with Vaasan Palloseura, on a contract running to the end of 2027. The left-footed midfielder has made 31 appearances in his first season there, across the Veikkausliiga (23), the Suomen Cup (3) and the Liiga Cup (5). He has scored once and set up six goals.
