About the player
Jhon Rentería's youth international career reached its high point at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where Colombia's under-20 side made it as far as the semi-finals before losing to Argentina. The Juradó-born midfielder was part of that squad, one of seven appearances he has made for Colombia at U-20 level, contributing two assists along the way.
Rentería, an attacking midfielder who plays with his left foot, started his professional career at Leones FC in Colombia's Primera B, making nine appearances for the club during 2024 without finding the net. In January 2025 he moved to Argentina as a free agent, joining Club Atlético Sarmiento de Junín, where he now wears the number 10 shirt.
