About the player
Joas Snellman returned to FF Jaro on 7 February 2026 on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs until 31 December 2026. The club presented the move as the return of a "local boy" and a former academy graduate, and thanked JBK Pietarsaari for good cooperation.
Snellman comes from the Jakobstad/Pietarsaari region, and Jaro is where his football began. He was in the club's youth system in 2020 and 2021, before leaving in March 2021 for SJK Akatemia, the reserve side of SJK.
The move took him into senior football. For nearly three years he played for SJK Akatemia in the Kakkonen and the Suomen Cup, and he stayed until January 2024. That was a spell of regular work in the lower divisions rather than in the top flight.
On 20 January 2024 he joined JBK Pietarsaari, which put him back in his home town.
