About the player
Joshua Duffus arrived at Saint-Étienne in August 2025 on a free transfer, putting his name to a contract running until 2029 after leaving Brighton & Hove Albion, the club that had shaped him since he was 12. He had joined Brighton's academy in 2017, working his way up through the youth ranks before signing his first professional contract in November 2022.
Before Brighton, Duffus's footballing education ran through south London: two years at Lambeth Tigers FC, a stint in Crystal Palace's academy between 2013 and 2016, then a return to Lambeth Tigers for a further season. It was from there that Brighton picked him up.
Duffus has represented England at youth level, appearing twice for the under-17s in 2022 and five times for the under-19s across 2023 and 2024, though he is yet to open his scoring account at international level.
