About the player
Formed at the INF Clairefontaine academy, Julien Vetro joined the Girondins de Bordeaux youth system in 2019 at the age of 15 and signed his first professional contract in August 2022. In two seasons with the senior side he made 13 appearances, and one of them stands out: on 19 February 2024, in the fifth minute of stoppage time, he scored a late equaliser against Amiens SC, the latest equaliser recorded for Bordeaux since the 2006/07 season. He was also named Joueur du mois at the club's youth centre.
In August 2024, Vetro moved to Burnley on a free transfer, signing a four-year deal, but was loaned out on the same day to Dundee in the Scottish Premiership, where he made five appearances during the 2024–25 season. He never played for Burnley itself. In September 2025 he returned to France, joining Sochaux, a move reported by OneFootball at a fee of €250,000, though other outlets did not disclose a figure. At Sochaux he has continued with the reserve side, playing for Sochaux B and scoring twice in eight appearances.
At international level, Vetro has represented France at youth stages, including a call-up to the under-16s in January 2017 and to the under-20s in March 2023 for matches against Germany, coming on from the bench. He has not featured for a senior national team.
