Juninho

The number that stands out on Juninho's record is 439 — the appearances he made for América Mineiro across nine seasons. He arrived there in May 2016 on loan and stayed on a permanent deal from February 2017, eventually taking the captain's armband, scoring 38 goals from a holding role along the way.

The early years gave little hint of that longevity. Juninho started out at Aparecida, moved on to Rio Verde, where he won the Campeonato Goiano Segunda Divisão in 2011, then spent time at Mogi Mirim before signing for Athletico Paranaense in 2013. Loans to Ponte Preta and Ferroviária took up most of it, and he left Athletico's books for América Mineiro.

In 2017 he was part of the América Mineiro side that won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, and in 2019 he picked up the Troféu Guará as the best holding midfielder in Minas Gerais. Two years later he was named in the team of the season for the Campeonato Mineiro. He never played for the Brazil national team.

Juninho left América Mineiro at the end of 2024 and signed for Goiás as a free agent in December that year, on a two-year contract. Across his time at Goiás so far he has made 62 appearances and scored twice, having featured in 36 Série B matches in 2025 and 18 more in 2026.
