About the player
Lev Lensen came through the Volendam academy before AZ picked him up in 2016, and it was at Jong AZ that he built his reputation, racking up 90 appearances and 15 goals for the club's reserve side. He was included in AZ's first-team squad for the 2018–2019 season without making an official appearance for the senior side.
His path then took him abroad to Denmark, where he spent time at Viborg FF, making 13 appearances without finding the net. He returned to the Netherlands in 2024, signing for FC Volendam, the club where his career had started. That spell proved his most productive: 31 appearances and five goals during the 2024–2025 season marked a clear step forward from his time in Denmark.
In July 2025, Lensen moved on again, joining Almere City, where he now continues his career as a midfielder.
