About the player
Only when Talavera left in 2020 did García take over as the starting goalkeeper.
With regular starter Pau López injured, García started every playoff match as Toluca won the Clausura 2025 Liga MX title. He went on to start in the Campeón de Campeones final, a 3–1 win over Club América, and in the Campeones Cup final, a 3–2 victory against LA Galaxy. In the Apertura 2025 final against Tigres UANL, he started the second leg and saved multiple penalties in the shootout to seal the championship.
García saved two spot-kicks in the shootout and was named Best Goalkeeper, included in the Best XI, and named Player of the Match for the tournament. He also picked up the Liga MX Save of the Month award in May 2025.
Before reaching Toluca, García came through Chiapas FC, making his senior debut in the Copa MX, before a move to Querétaro FC. He has since been called up to the Mexico national team squad for the Gold Cup and for World Cup qualifiers, though he has yet to win a senior cap.
