About the player
Luka Vrbančić came through the Dinamo Zagreb academy, having joined the club at the age of ten, and he made his senior debut in September 2023. He stayed part of the first-team picture through the 2023/24 double-winning campaign, and the moment that stands out from that season is a 93rd-minute winner in May 2024 that helped secure the league title. Across his time with Dinamo's senior side he made nine appearances and scored three goals.
Loan spells followed as the club tried to find him regular football. At NK Dubrava, in the second tier, he made eleven appearances and scored once. A move to NK Lokomotiva Zagreb brought closer to thirty appearances and three goals, along with a domestic cup win with that side in 2025.
In July 2025, Vrbančić joined NK Osijek on a permanent transfer, signing a three-year contract. Dinamo kept a sell-on clause on any future sale. At Osijek he has settled into regular first-team football, with over twenty appearances and a goal to his name since the move.
He has drawn comparisons to Paul Scholes. He has also progressed through every level of Croatia's youth system, from the under-15s up to the under-21 side, picking up goals along the way at under-19 and under-17 level in particular.
