About the player
He came up through Xaverov and Viktoria Žižkov before joining the Slavia Prague academy in 2011, where he won youth league titles at both under-17 and under-19 level. His senior debut for Slavia came in the 2019–20 season, in which the club won the title, and Slavia sent him out on loan to develop: first to Vysočina Jihlava, where he scored seven goals in 24 league games, then to Pardubice.
The breakthrough came at Slovan Liberec, where he moved on a free transfer in July 2022. Across 49 league appearances and seven goals, he grew into a key player.
At Plzeň, Červ has become an established presence, helping the club reach the Europa League quarter-finals in 2024/25 and a MOL Cup final the previous season, lost to Sparta Prague. He signed a new contract in 2025 that runs to 2029.
He made his senior debut for the Czech Republic in June 2024, in a friendly against Malta during preparations for the Euros, and was named in the 26-man squad for UEFA Euro 2024, though he did not play. Two years later, in May 2026, coach Miroslav Koubek included him in the squad for the 2026 World Cup.
