Teplice 5:5 Plzen: Czech Liga Match Result

Match report

Teplice and Plzen played out a remarkable 5-5 draw in the Czech League's Regular Season third round on Saturday. The match, which featured a flurry of goals in the first half, ended with both sides level after what was a chaotic evening in Teplice.

Plzen took control early, with Patrick Hrosovsky opening the scoring in the first minute, followed by Christophe Kabongo three minutes later and Sampsone Dweh making it 3-0 by the tenth. Teplice responded with two quick goals from Lukas Marecek and Matej Radosta before the twenty-first minute, then extended their lead through Marek Cermin in the thirty-fifth. And here's the thing — by then the visitors had pulled one back through Matěj Vydra in the twenty-eighth.

The second half saw Teplice take the lead for the first time when Jan Auta struck in the fifty-fourth minute, with Jan Fortelny adding a second just five minutes later. Plzen responded immediately through Denisa Visinsky in the sixty-eighth. The match grew increasingly messy, with Matej Riznic coming off for Teplice in the forty-sixth minute, and both sides making multiple changes. A red card for David Krcik in the eighty-eighth minute left Teplice with ten men for the final minutes.

Plzen dominated possession at sixty per cent and created more chances, but Teplice's efficiency proved crucial. The hosts managed six shots on target from fourteen attempts, while the visitors recorded eight on target from twelve shots. Teplice had three yellow cards and one red, compared to Plzen's single booking.

The result leaves Teplice in sixth place with seven points from seven games, while Plzen remain ninth on ten points. Both sides had been in different form — Teplice unbeaten in five before this fixture, while Plzen had drawn four of their seven matches.
