About the player
Martin Agnarsson signed his first senior contract with B36 Tórshavn in March 2020, aged 16, and was handed a debut that July. His breakthrough came in the 2021 season, when B36 won the Løgmanssteypid, the Faroe Islands Cup. He left the club in September 2022.
The move took him to Viborg FF in the Danish Superliga, and the two years there did not go to plan. Injuries interrupted his time in Denmark, among them two broken collarbones. Between 2022 and 2024 he made only two senior appearances for Viborg, one in the Superliga and one in the Danish Cup. The fee paid to B36 was not disclosed.
He found regular football again in September 2024 at Aarhus Fremad in the Danish 1st Division, the second tier. Over roughly two seasons the left-back played 57 matches, scored seven goals and set up nine.
Agnarsson's international career began before his senior debut. He played for the Faroe Islands at U17, U19 and U21 levels. His first senior appearance came on 19 November 2022, in a friendly against Kosovo. He has not scored for the senior side.
In July 2026 he moved to Sweden and Mjällby AIF of the Allsvenskan. The fee was reported at about 3.8 million Swedish kronor, and he signed a contract running to the end of 2030.
