About the player
Mamadou Camara was born in Aubervilliers and worked through the youth ranks at OFC Pantin and Red Star FC before joining the Troyes academy in 2017. He signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2021, though his time in Ligue 1 amounted to four senior appearances without a goal before he left in the summer of 2022.
He then made 75 appearances and scored 12 goals over two seasons with Quevilly-Rouen Métropole.
At Laval, he scored 15 goals in 64 appearances, 11 of them in league football across Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. He made his debut for Mali in March 2025 during qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and was later named in the country's 28-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, though he did not find the net at the tournament. As of March 2026 he had earned four caps for Mali without scoring.
