About the player
Sangaré came through Yeelen Olympique before Red Bull Salzburg brought him to Austria in 2020.
The breakthrough came at RC Lens, who signed him in August 2025 on a five-year deal. Sangaré won the Coupe de France with the club and was named winner of the Prix Marc-Vivien Foé, awarded to the best African player in Ligue 1, in the same season. He followed that by being named Mali Player of the Year.
Internationally, Sangaré made his senior debut for Mali in 2024 and has since won 16 caps. He was a regular starter at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, playing all five of Mali's matches as they reached the quarter-finals before losing to Senegal, and was named Man of the Match in the group-stage draw with Comoros. He had already tasted continental success at youth level, taking bronze with Mali's under-23s at the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
