About the player
Diaby came through Paris Saint-Germain's academy and captained the club's U19 side to the French U19 Championship title, also featuring in the UEFA Youth League. Early in 2025 he turned down a professional contract offer from PSG, and on 1 July 2025 he joined Cercle Brugge on a free transfer, signing a four-year deal.
He settled quickly into the Belgian Pro League, making 26 league appearances for Cercle Brugge in the 2025/26 season with two goals and an assist, plus two outings in the Belgian Cup. His final game for the club ended in a 0-1 defeat to Lommel SK. On 6 September 2026 he moved on again, this time to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, signing a four-year contract running until 2030. The fee was reported at between €13.5 million and €14 million, making it the second-most expensive sale in Cercle Brugge's history. He had not yet made an official appearance for Al-Ahli as of the move.
Diaby holds dual French and Guinean nationality and is eligible to represent either country, though he has not featured for a senior or youth national side. He stands 189 cm tall.
