About the player
Matthieu Huard joined as a boy in 2006 and stayed on through the club's reserve side, where he made 47 appearances and scored twice for Rennes II in the Championnat National 2 between 2016 and 2019. That long apprenticeship ended in the summer of 2019, when he left on a free transfer for AC Ajaccio and stepped into Ligue 2 football, going on to make 52 appearances for the Corsican club.
In September 2021 Huard took his career abroad, signing for Brescia Calcio in Italy's Serie B on a free transfer. He stayed with the club until his contract expired in August 2024, then returned to familiar ground with a second spell at AC Ajaccio, making 22 appearances across the 2024–2025 season.
Huard signed for Red Star FC 93 on a free transfer for the 2025–2026 season. He has moved between France and Italy across his career without adding a major title or individual honour to his record, and he has not been called up to represent France at any level.
