About the player
Mika Haas is the first player to emerge from the 1. FC Kaiserslautern academy and be called up to a German national youth team in more than nine years — the last before him were Dominique Heintz and Nicklas Shipnoski. That call-up came in September 2025, when Hannes Wolf named him in the Germany U20 squad; Haas made his debut on 5 September, starting against Switzerland U20 in the U20 Elite League. He played 63 minutes before making way for Vitalie Becker, in a match Germany won 5–1.
His path to Kaiserslautern's first team ran through the club's own youth system, with a detour along the way: after early years at TSG Kaiserslautern and 1. FC Kaiserslautern, he moved on to SFC Kaiserslautern and JFV Nord-West-Pfalz before returning to the club in 2019. He made his senior debut for 1. FC Kaiserslautern on 14 September 2024, against Hannover 96.
A left-footed full-back who can play at left-back or as a left wing-back, Haas has since become a regular fixture in the side. He has made 32 senior appearances and scored twice, while also contributing 9 goals in 38 outings for the club's second team. In the 2025/26 season alone he has featured 31 times in the 2. Bundesliga, with 2 goals, plus three appearances in the DFB-Pokal.
