About the player
Mohamed Ali Zoma spent his entire youth career at UC AlbinoLeffe, joining the club's academy at the age of 13 and working his way through the ranks to a first-team debut in 2021. Born in Merate to Ivorian and Burkinabé parents, he holds Italian citizenship and has represented neither Italy nor either West African nation at senior level so far.
His time at AlbinoLeffe produced steady progress rather than a single defining moment: a Campionato Primavera 3 title in the 2021/22 season, the club's internal "Best Young Player" award the following year, and then a breakout campaign in 2024/25, when he scored 13 goals in 35 league games and helped push the side into the playoffs. Across four seasons in Serie C he made 114 league appearances and scored 27 goals. That form earned him a place in TuttoMercatoWeb's Serie C Girone A Top 11 for 2024/25.
The performances persuaded FC Nürnberg to sign him permanently in August 2025, in a deal reported at around €800,000 and tying him to the 2. Bundesliga club until 2029. His start in Germany was interrupted when he suffered a thigh injury shortly after scoring against Arminia Bielefeld.
