About the player
Morteza Najafi came through FF Jaro's own system rather than arriving from another club. He moved up from the club's under-23 side, FF Jaro U23, and joined the senior squad in January 2026 on a contract that runs to the end of that year.
His first-team debut in the 2026 Veikkausliiga came against Ilves on 17 June, when he was in the starting line-up. He played eight minutes. Before and after that game he was named among the substitutes on seven other occasions without coming on.
Najafi was born in Bandar Abbas, Iran, and represents Finland by nationality, as FF Jaro list him. He has not yet been capped by any Finland national team, at youth level or above. He has no goals, assists or cards in senior football to date.
Because he is a forward who has played so little at this level, the numbers say more about timing than about ability: a player still in his first year in the senior squad, at an age when many of his contemporaries are still in youth football.
