About the player
Osman Ertuğrul Çetin got his Süper Lig debut because a team-mate was hurt. Against Antalyaspor, Fenerbahçe goalkeeper Berke Özer went off injured, and Çetin came on in his place. He had joined the club's academy in 2014 and signed his first professional contract in February 2019.
His route to that afternoon ran through a loan at Altınordu, from October 2020 to January 2021, where he did not make a senior appearance. In August 2022 he made his European debut, in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers. The 2022–2023 season ended with a Turkish Cup for Fenerbahçe. Çetin was in the squad but did not play in the matches.
Regular senior football came in 2023–2024, on loan at Gençlerbirliği in the TFF 1. Lig, where he made 20 appearances. In July 2025 he left Fenerbahçe for good and signed for Esenler Erokspor.
That November the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) gave him a 45-day suspension for betting violations committed when he was 18. Çetin said the bets were not on his own matches.
He came through Turkey's youth national teams. He earned 3 caps at under-15 level, 6 at under-16 and 5 at under-17. He then played 9 times for the under-19s and 3 times for the under-21s. He has not yet been capped by the senior side.
