About the player
Ousmane Diop took his first steps in the game at the Diambars Institute in Saly, joining the academy at the age of thirteen. He had already made his mark internationally before ever kicking a ball in France: he was part of the Senegal squad that won the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria, beating Morocco 2-1 in the final.
His move abroad came in July 2023, when he went on loan to ESTAC Troyes, spending the 2023–2024 season with the reserve side. He then returned to Diambars before signing a three-year contract with Clermont Foot in August 2024, joining as an academy graduate on an undisclosed fee.
At Clermont, Diop has scored one goal in Ligue 2 to date. His progress has continued at youth level with Senegal: in late 2025 he featured in the UFOA-A U17 Tournament, helping the side reach the final and secure qualification for the next U17 AFCON. He has been linked with a step up to the U20 national team, though he has not yet made his senior international debut.
