About the player
The Senegalese, born in Thiaroye-sur-Mer, moved to France in the summer of 2024.
He settled first with Sochaux's reserve side, playing 14 matches in National 3 during his debut season as he adjusted to French football. In July 2025 the club sent him out on loan to ASC Biesheim in National 2: 25 league appearances, one goal and one assist, plus three cup outings across the 2025-26 season. Biesheim themselves have been promoted to National 1 for 2026-27, and Diop remains with them on loan as that campaign gets under way.
The clearest sign of Sochaux's faith in him came in November 2025, when the club extended his contract to 2028 despite his having yet to play a senior minute for the first team.
