Pontus Jonsson

Jonsson's career has largely been a conversation between IK Brage and Gefle IF. He came up through Korsnäs IF before joining Dalkurd FF's youth ranks in 2017, and it was with Dalkurd that he made his senior debut in the Superettan against Trelleborgs FF that November. A spell at Forssa BK followed before he signed for IK Brage in May 2018, though his early appearances there were sparse — two Superettan matches that year. A loan to Kvarnsvedens IK in 2019 gave him more regular football, with ten league outings in Division 2 Norra Svealand, and he returned to Brage for the 2020 season to make 14 league appearances.

The biggest step of his career came in February 2021, when he moved to Gefle IF. There he became a fixture in midfield, making 60 league appearances across two seasons and scoring seven goals, four of them in his first year at the club. His return to IK Brage in December 2022 followed, when he signed a permanent contract running to the end of 2027.

In January 2026 he extended his contract with Brage again, tying him to the club until the end of 2027. He has not been capped by Sweden at senior or youth level, though he was called into a U17 training camp in November 2018 before withdrawing without featuring.
