Roman Macek

Roman Macek made his move to Sparta Praha in the summer of 2026, joining for €600,000 after his release clause was activated. It capped a career that had taken him far from his native Zlín, where he came through the youth ranks at FC Fastav Zlín before Juventus signed him in 2016. He never established himself in Turin, spending the following seasons out on loan at Bari and Cremonese before settling in Switzerland with Lugano.

Lugano became the defining club of Macek's career. He signed permanently in January 2019 and stayed on and off for the best part of six years, with his contract terminated in August 2021 before he returned for the 2022–23 season having recovered from an ACL injury. That spell in Switzerland ended in the summer of 2025, when he joined Mladá Boleslav as a free agent.

Macek's only piece of silverware from his time at Juventus was the Italian Primavera League title in 2016, won with the club's youth side. At international level, he has represented the Czech Republic at every age group from U16 through to U21, though he has not featured for the senior national team.
