Sampson Kargeoh Dweh Jr.

Sampson Kargeoh Dweh Jr. left Liberia for the Czech Republic almost as soon as his senior career began, moving from LPRC Oilers in Monrovia to MFK Vyškov in August 2022 after only one season at home. The step up did not take long to pay off: within a year Viktoria Plzeň took him on loan with an option to buy, and by June 2024 the move had become permanent, with Dweh signing a contract that has since been extended to 2029.

At Plzeň the centre-back has become a regular fixture rather than a squad player brought in to make up the numbers. In the 2024–2025 season he made 42 appearances across all competitions and added four league goals from the back. Plzeň finished the campaign as runners-up in the Czech First League, behind Slavia Prague, while also reaching the Round of 16 in the Europa League and the quarter-finals of the Conference League. The previous year, Dweh had already tasted a cup final with the club, though Plzeň lost 2–1 to Sparta Prague in the 2023–24 Czech Cup.

Dweh has earned 38 caps for the national team and scored his first international goal in a 5–1 win over Algeria during qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, in November 2024. He has yet to add a major trophy or individual award to his record.
